Renewable and wood-based materials in civil engineering

Qualification goals

Students will understand the essential anatomical, physical, and chemical properties of fibre- and particle-based organic construction materials at the level necessary for the course goals. They will learn about major technologies in manufacturing of major organic materials and wood composites. The students will learn fundamentals of mechanics of orthotropic materials and understand the environmental performance of materials.
