Department

The Department of Organic and Wood-Based Materials of the iBMB arose in 2010 from the long existing department Structures and Application of Building Materials. The new department originated from the cooperation of the Fraunhofer Society and the Technical University Braunschweig, and works closely together with the Institute for Wood Research Wilhelm-Klauditz-Institut (WKI) in Braunschweig.

FNR Junior Research Group funded

The German Agency for Renewable Resources (Fachagentur für nachwachsende Rohstoffe) of Federal Ministry for Food and Agriculture (Bundesministerium für Ernährung und Landwirtschaft BMEL) funds a Junior Research Group at Fraunhofer WKI and TU Braunschweig with over 1.6 Million Euros.
